Grey and cream rectangular metal unit with two grey leads at the back and a black synthetic control panel at the front. The control panel features thirteen red and green indicator lights, two buttons and an inscription giving the maker and model name, '1677 PLESSEY'. The modem was used as part of an automated stock ordering system for branches.
