Property press cuttings (84/5-84/8), 1984

Press cuttings relating to Sainsbury's property issues (mainly planned new stores or store extensions). Some press cuttings relating to developments by competitors are also included. The cuttings in this file were summarised in a 'Property Press Cutting Digest' (also included in the file) which was regularly circulated to various people in the company such as senior managers and directors at head office. They were able to obtain copies of the cuttings listed from the Estates Department. Each cutting is numbered to link it with the digest. This folder includes digests numbered 84/5 to 84/8 (filed in reverse order).

The cuttings have been mounted on paper, often using photocopies of earlier cuttings (dated September 1983 to March 1984) as scrap paper for this purpose.
