Moulded relief tile featuring a bird perched on orange blossom branches pecking at one of two oranges; one of the oranges has a fly on it. The tiles have a red coloured glaze ground with further coloured glazes over the raised areas of the design; brown for the bird and branches, cream for the blossom, orange for the fruit and green for the leaves. The reverse features a raised inscription, 'Minton, Hollins & Co. Stoke on Trent' and impressions left by the moulding process. This style of tile was used as a border on the walls of an early Sainsbury's showpiece branch at Brondesbury and is part of a two tile pattern.
