Machine pressed relief tile with a stylised plant design. The olive green coloured glaze over the whole design forms pools in recessed areas, creating dark tones that contrast with the lighter areas in high relief. There is a raised inscription on the reverse, 'No. 2.' This wall tile came from the Sainsbury's branch built at Reigate in 1925 and is in the Sainsbury's house style that predominated from the 1890s to the late 1940s.
