Section of tiled wall featuring fragments of chrysanthemum border tiles around fragments of a central motif of stylised crown imperial tiles. The border tiles are machine pressed relief tiles with different coloured glazes on raised areas of the design and the central motif tiles are machine pressed relief tiles with a cream glaze. Fragments of teapot brown and turquoise glazed border tiles and cream glazed tiles are also present above and below the border tiles. The tiles are still attached to the original cement work. This is an example of the house style used on the walls of Sainsbury's branches from the 1890s to the late 1940s.
