Section of tiled wall featuring whole and partial border and corner tiles that would have surrounded a central motif of stylised crown imperial tiles. There are two different types of border tile; the inner border features a chrysanthemum design and is made up of machine pressed relief tiles with different coloured glazes on raised areas of the design, the outer border is made of teapot brown and turquoise glazed tiles. The tiles are still attached to the original cement work. This is an example of the house style used on the walls of Sainsbury's branches from the 1890s to the late 1940s.
