Tiles (from 12/16 High Street, Kingsland branch)

Machine pressed relief tiles featuring an Art Nouveau style flower, leaf and scroll design. The design is painted with coloured glazes; brown for the borders and the background, blue and green for the scrolls, green for the leaves and yellow for the flower. The tiles were used at the Sainsbury's branch at 12/16 High Street, Kingsland, Dalston where they formed part of a larger pattern. The tiles are still attached to the original cement work.
