'BRANCH ORDERING ORDERS IN TRANSIT', aimed at highlighting the weaknesses of the system of tracking orders in transit and thereby matching receipts and orders within SABRE. From the SABRE Project Library.
SABRE (SAles Based REplenishment) was a computer system introduced in 1992 by Sainsbury's for ordering of stock to its branches. The system used sales figures derived from checkout scanning to calculate the level of stock and to anticipate future demand.
