Sainsbury's display manual for canned goods, grocery and traditional non-foods. Gives detailed guidance and principles for creating and maintaining display gondolas within branches. With black and white photographs. From Bracknell branch. The manual is divided into the following sections: Section 1: Basic information. This includes two introduction pages and section 1 of the manual. Section one includes display principles, basic information and data. Section 2: Equipment. This section relates to display equipment; its sizes, uses and limitations. Some of the pages in this section seem to have become disordered over time; they have been digitized in the order they were found in as the original order was unclear. Section 3: Display details. This section consists of information on shelf and gondola lengths, and profiles and notes on dressing principles for each department. Staff are requested to add details relating to their branch in order to make comparisons. Section 4 (plinths and other features). This section includes plinths and other features; including what sizes are available and what they should be used for. Section 5 (ticketing and advertising information). This section includes ticketing and advertising information. The original A4 landscape ring binder is also included in the Archive. It has white lettering on the front cover and the spine reads 'SAINSBURY'S Display Manual' and 'Canned Goods Grocery & Traditional Non Foods' and stuck on labels read '774 BRACKNELL'. There are numbers written in black ink. A white label on the spine relays a pre-existing reference number. Also includes 5 coloured card section dividers. Some have titles.
