The photograph appeared in 'JS Journal' July 1987 page 10, with the following story "The leg power of Basingstoke Central has raised funds for a local deaf person. Recently every member of staff at the store pedalled, on an exercise cycle, for 15 minutes. Over £400 was collected from customers. The money bought a teletext television for John Wellham and his daughter Irene. Deputy manager John Pratley and in store instructor Peggy Hughes presented the gift.".
