A similar image included in 'JS Journal' July 1992, p.13, explains that "In the 'dead and decaying' section of the nature area this wooden beetle sculpture will be deliberately allowed to decay so that children can study the process." The 13-acre nature area was to be "formally opened in the autumn, and run by the local authority. The area used to be scrubland but now contains an outdoor classroom for children, a butterfly habitat area, a turfed viewing mound and a 70 x 30 metre lake with reed beds and its own bird sanctuary island."
