Seems to show the immediate aftermath of the first time the branch was bombed during the Second World War, on 9 July 1943. 'JS Journal' Vol. 4 No. 4 November 1951, p.12, includes an image of "How the branch operated after the first bombing", in which the storeys above the ground floor branch building have been demolished. The building was subsequently destroyed by a flying bomb on 12 July 1944.
