Photograph (group portrait) of the staff at 114 High Road, Ilford branch on the retirement of Mr G.J. Smith. The photo was taken in front of the office at the branch. The photograph is very similar to a photograph included in JS Journal November/December 1956 page 47 and includes the same people standing in the same order. According to JS Journal, the photograph features from left to right, back row: Mr. Rodford, Mrs. May, Miss Lazell, Mr. Pritchard, Mr. Else. Standing midway: Mr. Connelly, Mr. Wilkens, Mr. Finch, Mr. Allison, Mr. G. Smith, Miss Fenton, Mr. May, Mr. D. Smith. Sitting: Mrs. Ferne, Mrs. Huddart, Mrs. Ball, Mrs. Jackson, Mrs. Holt, Mrs. Barlow. Front row: Miss Pike, Miss Nicholas, Mrs. King, Miss Loveday, Miss Kerby, Mrs. Cripps. A letter from the depositor also identifies the people in the photograph - this differs a little from the names in JS Journal and in some instances first names are also included.
