JS Journal' April 1992, p.12, notes that "[t]he new supermarket in Deepdale Road, Preston, which has replaced the smaller store in Carlisle Street, is surrounded by history; that history takes the form of replica railings around the site. The old wrought iron railings of Deepdale Hospital, which originally stood on the site, had suffered extensive damage, and JS commissioned a local specialist company to copy them in steel and renovate parts of the original."
