Shows the shop while it was operated by the Coppen Brothers. Coppens was a chain in south west London which Sainsbury's took over in 1954. Image included in 'JS Journal' November 1954, p.8, with the caption "Richmond Branch, Christmas, 1899. The gentleman in white on the right of the picture is Mr. G. S. Coppen youngest son of the Founder, Mr. J. D. Coppen." The man in the doorway wearing a suit is identified on the back of the print as "E.F. Bedford, manager, later director for many years".
