Photograph taken at the bakery at Telford (1973-1990) branch shortly before opening. This was Sainsbury's first in-store bakery. The photograph is included in 'JS Journal' November 1973 with the caption "the bakery again, with training superintendent Dennis Males (left) and Brian Duddy from quality control, a qualified bakery technician, in action. The reason for so much top brass in this, the newest of new sections, which was only completed on the day before the store opened, is the sheer rush they had to open on time. Faced with a delay in delivery of materials and equipment the training team had to open themselves, and catch up on staff training later". Photograph by Brian Shuel (reference SSB 17 frame 2).
