Photograph showing Sainsbury's Watford (19-21 The Parade, High Street) branch during Watford Shopping Week in October 1928. The caption explains that the branch won first prize in the provisions and the poultry and game sections of the Watford Shopping Week Window Dressing Competition. Products in the window include Cheshire and Cheddar cheese, English new laid eggs ("Daily Supplies from Our Own Farms"), poultry ("Finest Fatted Poultry"). There is also a poster advertising "Dairy Fed Pork from our own farms" and some (poultry or game?) hanging above the window. The picture was included in 'JS Journal' Oct 1984 page 24 and Oct 1995 page 24.
