Photograph of the Sainsbury's branch at 12-16 Worple Road, Wimbledon branch. This branch comprised of a new building opened on 5 July 1982 with offices above (called William House) next door to the existing branch at 8-12 Worple Road. The old branch at 8-12 was then closed, refitted, and then reopened as a part of the new branch on 7 December 1982. This photo shows the back of the new building in the centre (with "Offices to lease" sign), and the back of the original building to its right (which was shared with Elys department store). There is an entrance to Sainsbury's loading bay in the new building. Some other buildings on St George's Road can also be seen including the Wimbledon Community Centre. Photograph probably by J.J.
