The narrator explains that Leamington Spa was chosen for the film as it was considered typical of the company's new supermarkets and incorporated a number of new features. The film shows the interior of the store and highlights features such as the delicatessen counter (the fourth Sainsbury's shop to have a delicatessen counter), shows the opening of the store by John Davan Sainsbury (chairman) and the first customers to shop at the store. Other features shown include the beers, wines and spirits department, produce department (fruit and vegetables), motorised checkouts, Double Delight customer restaurant.
