He begins with an introduction and then discusses various topics including: the company’s financial results in detail; the performance of subsidiaries; the UK economy and recession; comparison with sales figures of competitors; sales figures for different product categories (eg petrol, produce); changes to products including examples of successful new products; areas which needed improvement and were performing unsatisfactorily; the company’s market share; price position; comparison with competitors including impact of "discounters".
A document called "the blue book" was circulated to the attendees with details of the company’s financial results.
