Unedited video footage of part of Sainsbury’s Senior Management Seminar titled “Customer’s First Choice” held at the Park Lane Hotel, London. The seminar related to the introduction of a new strategy which they hoped would lead to the company being the customer’s first choice of supermarket.
1. Introductory presentation by Tom Vyner (a Sainsbury’s director). He introduces the new strategy, explains the plans for the seminar and discusses what they hope to achieve in the seminar.
2. (11:22) Presentation by Kevin McCarten (Marketing Director) entitled “Marketing Framework”. Topics include the changes affecting the business, market share versus Tesco, and customer perceptions of Sainsbury’s versus competitors. Only parts of the presentation is included on the video. Includes footage of audience and video clips of a customer focus group discussion.
3. (24:29) Footage of a breakout session (group exercise) relating to being the customers’ first choice.
4. (28:53) Brief interviews with attendees giving their thoughts about the seminar, and the new strategy.
