Two videos repeated consecutively on a loop for one hour. It is unclear what the title on the physical video refers to, possibly it is incorrect or the videos were shown at a "Sainsbury's Managers' Conference Exhibition", possibly (based on the date written on the tape[?]) the store managers' conference in March 2002 (see 'JS Journal' April 2002, p.11). The videos are:
1. Video introducing Sainsbury's branch staff to REPOS (Replatforming Electronic Point of Sale) project, aimed at upgrading information technology used at point of sale [checkout]. Includes footage of staff using the old and new systems, serving customers at checkouts, bakery and petrol station, and using computers in a branch office. According to end credits the footage was filmed at Tollgate West, Stanway, Colchester branch. See also 'The Journal', July/August 2002, p.4. The video ends with a Venn diagram graphic titled "Sainsbury's first for food" and showing how "outstanding quality", "great service" and "competitive cost" are "faster, simpler, together" and lead to "increasing shareholder returns". This may or may not have been part of the original REPOS video shown to staff. Duration: 5 minutes 40 seconds.
2. "Dollars & Deals" report from WPLG Miami/Fort Lauderdale Channel 10 'Eyewitness News' about self-service checkouts in Kmart supermarket in Oakwood Plaza, Hollywood, Florida, USA. There is no direct relevance to Sainsbury's. Duration: 2 mins 45 secs.
