Video which explains the Sainsbury’s Schoolbags scheme which offered vouchers to Sainsbury's customers who reused their carrier bags. The vouchers could be given to schools and they would be able to exchange them for free equipment paid for by Sainsbury's.
The video shows a class in a Victorian style school. A school boy goes to ask his teacher Mr Skinflint (dressed as a Victorian teacher) for more equipment at the school (imitating the scene in ‘Oliver Twist’ when Oliver asks Mr Bumble for ‘more’). The school cook explains the Schoolbags scheme. We see the cook (wearing a Victorian style outfit) shopping at a Sainsbury’s store and collecting the vouchers. The teacher explains to the class that the children should ask their parents to shop at Sainsbury’s and bring back the vouchers.
The video looks like it was intended to promote the scheme to schools, but it is unclear whether it was actually used as the tape is labelled “Training video do not use”.
Duration: 5 minutes.
