Video of an event held in an auditorium at the National Gallery for the launch of the sixth year of the Sainsbury’s Pictures for Schools scheme (which offered free prints of pictures to schools). The video mainly consists of a talk by writer Alan Bennett who had selected four of the paintings. He mainly talks about specific paintings (those he had chosen for Pictures for Schools and some other pictures he likes), but also gives some of his thoughts on art in general.
The video starts with an introduction by Cathy/Kathy Adler (Head of Education, National Gallery). Alan Bennett’s talk then follows.
Duration: 1 hour 4 minutes.
