‘Pulling Together’- news report on the sponsored truck pull which raised funds for the St. John Ambulance Brigade at the end of May. Involved Safeway, Somerfield and Excel Logistics as well as Sainsbury’s.
‘Hardtex picks up new assembly system’- report on the new carousel and conveyors of the new ‘Pick to Belt’ assembly system in the Hardware and Textiles department.
‘Hospital gardens are just what the doctor ordered’- thank you letters from Royston Hospital in response to help received from two men from the depot who cut the grass and tidied the hospital grounds.
‘Warehouse keys in to trial computer’- news regarding a trial which involved equipping two reach trucks with keyboards and VDUs [visual display units – i.e. computer monitors] linked up to a control system. This was done to eliminate the use of replenishment labels in the non-foods area.

‘New store sets the trend’- news about the third new Buntingford - serviced store opening in Thetford.
