Black and white photograph, slide transparencies and negatives of the interior and exterior of wartime depots.
Letter is incomplete but refers to the Wholesale Distributing Depot at The Old Paper Mill, Passfield, Nr. Borden.
Depots were established at Bramshott (Hampshire), Saffron Walden (Essex), Fleckney (near Leicester), and Woolmer Green (Hertfordshire). These depots during the war replaced the depot at Blackfriars, London as a result of Blackfriars' vulnerability to enemy air attack, the limited supply of fuel, and Government restrictions on food movements.
Items include correspondence, press cuttings, and images of the depots.
