"Working for the future - together" video

Video titled "Working on the future - together" showing involvement of all levels of Sainsbury's supply chain staff in the supply chain's transformation programme. The video seems to have been intended to explain aspects of the programme to supply chain staff.

00:00: Footage of Sainsbury's distribution centre and warehouse staff on a trip to Austria and Germany so they could see modern distribution centres and warehouse equipment and were able to comment on the changes that were coming to the Sainsbury's supply chain, such as automation in picking. The companies visited are "SPAR in Austria", TGW ("the company manufacturing new warehouse systems for Sainsbury's"), and an unidentified German company. Includes clips of interviews with those on the trip and footage of them travelling by coach and being shown around the warehouses.
08:40: Footage of the same staff at Sainsbury's Fanhams Hall training centre watching footage of their trip and putting questions about the new equipment and its impact on staff to: director, supply chain development Andy Banks; project manager, Stoke, Witron (a logistics company contracted by Sainsbury's) Terry Krantz; and automatic design manager Trevor Chesterton.
16:42: Closing montage of footage from the trip and comments from Trevor Chesterton and Andy Banks, followed by contact information for staff who can answer questions relating to distribution centres at Rye Park/Stoke, Hams Hall/Waltham Point and Greenham Park and general questions about the "7-in-3 programme" (the plan to complete seven years' work in three years - see also 'JS Journal' November 2001, pp.12-13).
