Presidential Award for Design Management bestowed upon J. Sainsbury Ltd. by the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) in 1967. The centrepiece of the award is a cast Wedgewood jasperware ceramic disc with a plain blue ground and relief design in white. The design depicts the exterior of the RSA building within a frame inscribed 'ROYAL SOCIETY OF ARTS 1754'. The frame features scroll motifs and branches and is topped by a flame. The name of the award has been handpainted in gold on the blue ground. The disc is held within a grey suede covered frame with a wooden back and hinged stand. Circular openings in the frame and stand reveal the maker's mark on the back of the disc, 'WEDGEWOOD MADE IN ENGLAND TH67'. A gold sticker attached to the stand records the frame maker, 'A BICKLOW FRAME CAMBERLEY, SURREY'.
