Two models of blue and white, round commemorative plaques which read, 'The Site of The FIRST BRANCH OF SAINSBURY'S Opened by MARY ANN & JOHN JAMES SAINSBURY in 1869'. The plaques are referring to 173 Drury Lane. They are almost identical to a plaque which hung in 173 Drury Lane which read, 'The FIRST HOUSE of SAINSBURY 1869'.
The models may have been made by Sainsbury's Design Studio but it is not clear what their purpose was.
