Leaflet promoting Sainsbury's Retail Training Scheme for Girls under which girls leaving school could train to become a Saleswoman in a Sainsbury's counter service shop or a Supply Assistant in a self-service store, "with a view to being trained and regraded to Display Assistants and Cashiers at a later date". It also details the opportunities for promotion to Chief Cashier, Chief Clerk or "other more responsible supervisory posts". This version of the leaflet includes the pay rates applicable to 'City and West End Stores': Drury Lane; Marylebone; Paddington; Victoria; Chelsea; Islington; High Street Kensington; Earls Court; Fulham; West Kensington; Lambeth; Southwark; Hoxton; and Watney Street. The leaflet was designed by Sainsbury's Design Studio.

Flyer headed 'Opportunities at Sainsbury's' on one side and 'Rates of pay at Sainsbury's' on the other. It includes the basic weekly wage for men during training at branches in the City and West End of London ['City' refers to Central London rather than the City proper, see SA/DES/39/292 for a list of branches], and also details of additional payments for responsibility and proficiency. This may have been distributed with other recruitment literature perhaps as an insert to a leaflet.
