Flyer headed 'Opportunities at Sainsbury's' on one side and 'Rates of pay at Sainsbury's' on the other. It includes the basic weekly wage for men during training at [some] branches and also details of additional payments for responsibility and proficiency. A code 'Prov' is printed on the leaflet - pay levels varied in different parts of the country and this code probably indicated to staff the area where these pay rates applied to ensure it was correctly distributed (perhaps 'Prov' refers to a 'provincial' pay rate for branches outside of London?). This may have been distributed with other recruitment literature perhaps as an insert to a leaflet.

Flyer headed 'Opportunities at Sainsbury's' on one side and 'Rates of pay at Sainsbury's' on the other. It includes the basic weekly wage for men during training at [some] branches and also details of additional payments for responsibility and proficiency. A code 'Met/Spec' is printed on the leaflet - pay levels varied in different parts of the country and this code probably indicated to staff the area where these pay rates applied to ensure it was correctly distributed (perhaps 'Met/Spec' refers to metropolitan and special pay scales - maybe branches in London excluding central London and other branches which had the same pay rate?).

A code 'Outer Cent' is printed on the leaflet - pay levels varied in different parts of the country and this code probably indicated to staff the area where these pay rates applied to ensure it was correctly distributed (perhaps 'Outer Cent' refers to an outer central pay rate for branches in outer central London not covered by the City & West End pay scale?). This may have been distributed with other recruitment literature perhaps as an insert to a leaflet.
