Leaflet promoting the Senior Retail Training Scheme which offered training to "young men aged 18 and over and provides for a properly planned career in the food trade". Those who were successful in this training and passed would be graded as Salesman or Butcher and could be later promoted into other roles. The flyer has a code 'MET' - pay levels varied in different parts of the country and this code presumably indicated to staff the area where these pay rates applied to ensure it was correctly distributed. 'MET' probably refers to London (excluding central London which had a different code).
