Leaflet promoting Sainsbury's Retail Training Scheme for Girls under which girls leaving school could train to become a saleswoman in a Sainsbury's counter service shop or a packer weigher in a self-service store, "with a view to being regraded to display assistants and cashiers at a later date". It also details the opportunities for promotion. A code 'MET' is printed on the leaflet - pay levels varied in different parts of the country and this code probably indicated to staff the area where these pay rates applied to ensure it was correctly distributed ('MET' probably refers to branches in London, except for central London which had a different code). The leaflet was designed by Sainsbury's Design Studio. The leaflet is mounted in a guardbook so the back page is not fully viewable and is not included in digital images of the item (however the back page is blank except for the text "Sainsbury's Design Studio" and "MET. 9/65").
