Flyer for customers at Broad Weir, Broadmead, Bristol inviting them to sign a petition in favour of Sainsbury's application for an off-licence allowing them to sell beer, wines, and spirits in the store. [It seems this was successful - the off-licence department opened on 24th July 1962 according to 'JS Journal' November 1962 page 36 (https://d1nvj7b44vmgv4.cloudfront.net/_file/journal/SA_SC_JSJ_16_7.pdf#page=36). This would be the first self-service Sainsbury's branch licensed to sell alcoholic drinks - the Weybridge counter service branch was the only other licensed branch].
