Film showing work in the cut and wrap section at Sainsbury's poultry packing station at Bury St Edmunds. The film shows the impact of a work study (a study to assess current methods of work and investigate whether these methods can be improved, for example to increase productivity). There are no voices on the film, just a background music track, and title cards are used to indicate what is being shown on each part of the film.
The first half of the film shows the old method of working in 1964. The second half shows the new method of working which aimed to increase speed, and save labour, yield and materials.
The film appears to be for internal use possibly to demonstrate the benefits of work studies and in training others to carry out work studies.
Colour film, 12 minutes 19 seconds long. Film by J.W. Weyers
