The first of these publications was the 'Veterans Newsletter' published between 1962 and 1988. This was a newsletter containing an update on Veterans (new Veterans, birthdays, wedding anniversaries, obituaries etc) and upcoming events for them such as reunions and trips.
At the end of 1988 two new publications were introduced which superseded the newsletter - 'JS Veterans News' and 'JSV Informer'. 'JS Veterans News' was an illustrated magazine containing articles of interest to Veterans such as reports of recent Veterans events, stories on the post-retirement activities of Veterans, articles relating to company history, and articles on matters like wellbeing and finances after retirement. 'JSV Informer' was more of a direct replacement for the newsletter containing a largely text-only update on Veterans (new Veterans, birthdays etc) and details of upcoming events.
In 1999, these two publications 'JS Veterans News' and 'JSV Informer' merged into one 'Veterans News' (now 'The News') magazine. This included both the magazine-style articles of 'Veterans News' and the updates that were previously included in the 'Informer'.
This series also includes associated images from the publication of the Veterans News.
This series is incomplete - many of the newsletters and magazines have not been deposited in the archive.
