Newsletter (4 pages) for Sainsbury’s Veterans (retired staff) printed and published by the Veterans Welfare Section and the Sainsbury Staff Association.
An additional sheet is inserted with a list of Veterans birthdays and golden wedding anniversaries in August (explained as due to an administrative error that meant the August birthdays were not correctly displayed in the July issue).
Contents:
[untitled] - report of recent Veterans outings to Bournemouth and Skegness.
‘Retirements’ - names and addresses of recent retirees joining the Veterans Group.
‘September Birthdays’ - list of birthdays and addresses of veterans born in September.
‘Golden Wedding’- list of addresses of Veterans who celebrate their golden weddings in September.
‘Change of Address’ - details of address changes for Veterans.
‘Thought for the month’ - Begins “Oh fie upon that gardener who is always on the go, who fusses after all his plants and teaches them to grow.” and ends “unless sometimes you just down tools and LOOK at what you’ve done?”
‘Visitor News’ - list that acknowledges the names and addresses of Veterans who are in hospital or sick and extends them well wishes.
‘Obituaries’ - names and addresses of Veterans who had recently died.
