Newsletter by the Griffin Athletic Club (Sainsbury's staff sports club) which included reports of a wide range of sporting and social events, details of upcoming events, reports from local sections, and information on committee meetings and the management of the club. A wide variety of sport activities were organized by the club and its local sections including cricket, netball, swimming, football, tennis, cycling and bowls. There was also a Griffin Operatic and Dramatic Society (G.O.D.S.) connected with the club.
It appears this newsletter was published weekly although only three issues (out of at least 92, judging by the issue numbering) have been donated to the archive.
They had a sports ground at Dulwich, and events were also held by local sections in their areas. The club later became the Sainsbury Staff Association (SSA) and the SSA newsletter ('Association News', later 'SSA News') replaced the 'Griffin News'.
