Navy blue fabric cap with a cotton covered metal button at the top of the head and a soft fabric covered semi circular visor at the front.
A griffin with a metal thread has been embroidered onto the front of the cap and there is a gold band sewn around the cotton covered metal button.
The inside of the cap has a piece of black fabric sewn into it. There is a fabric label sewn into the centre of the black fabric which reads ' "PLEFIX" PATENTED & REGISTERED [4]18627 554765' and there is a space for the 'OWNERS NAME' which has been left blank.
The cap was presented to Alfred Earl in 1923 by the captain of the Griffin team, S T Goldy. Alfred Earl played for the team for 25 years.
