Video for Sainsbury’s staff about the Choices scheme by Sainsbury's and the Government’s Employment Department for education and training of staff in Sainsbury’s stores to improve their skills.
As part of the scheme staff could apply to take part in internal educational or training courses either within the company or external courses (eg college courses). The scheme enabled staff to take up new roles in the company and gain new skills and qualifications. Support was available including financial.
Interviews are included with staff who had taken part in the scheme explaining what they did and how they benefited from it. They did a variety of courses eg training in different roles in the store, maths, English, and cake decorating.
Footage is included showing staff at work doing various tasks in a Sainsbury’s store (eg working at checkout, counters, canteen, bakery, stacking shelves, on computers, in the warehouse), store exterior, lorry in loading bay. The video was made with the assistance of Marshall Lake (Solihull) and Winchmore Hill (London) stores – presumably the footage is from those stores.
Duration: 18 minutes. Produced by Sainsbury’s Visual Communications.
