Handout (version 2, Oct 1998) by The Partnering Group Inc of the presentation slides from a training session for Sainsbury's staff on category management, and a leaflet for suppliers about the category management training programme.
Category management is defined as "a Retailer-Supplier process of managing categories as Strategic Business Units, producing enhanced business results by focusing on delivering Consumer Value".
It was intended that 'all our relevant trading, merchandising, marketing and logistical personnel' will attend the category management training programme, and Sainsbury's suppliers were also encouraged to take part in the training.
An uncompleted feedback form is also enclosed.
