Photograph which is part of a set which shows streets and buildings in the areas of London which are associated with the birthplaces and early years of the family of John James and Mary Ann Sainsbury. Photograph by Brian Shuel (reference SE 30/25). This road was previously named Kinaston Street which it seems had a connection with the family (and was close to the birthplace of John James Sainsbury on Oakley Street, now named Baylis Road). It was later renamed Johanna Street and is located between Baylis Road and Lower Marsh. A handwritten note accompanying the photos (perhaps written by Brian Shuel) explains that on "one side is a Primary School built in 1874 and a pub called the Spanish Patriot (?) the other is a car park and a printing works (I think). There are no street numbers".
