Portrait photograph by Douglas Glass, London W4 (reference 14/1541). The photograph is one of a number of portraits taken by Douglas Glass of Sainsbury's directors (who were mostly Sainsbury's family members at that time). One copy is mounted on cardboard with signature in pencil by Douglas Glass. A contact print of this picture is also included (this is uncropped). There are also contact prints of several other shots showing James Sainsbury in various poses taken during the same photoshoot which do not appear to have been used - these are numbered 1, 3 to 6, 8 to 11, 13, 16 to 19. Negatives were also originally included with the contact prints but these had seriously deteriorated due to 'vinegar syndrome'.
