Tapered wooden seating stick that was used both as a walking stick and a seat. The stick has two semicircular metal handles covered with a brown leather-effect textile. The handles are mounted on hinges and can be pulled apart to reveal a suspended length of brown leather that acts as a seat.
The stick also has a long metal tip that could be plunged into the ground to hold the seat in place.
This seating stick probably belonged to a member of the Sainsbury family.
