Private ledger C, 1944-51

Ledger containing accounts from across the Sainsbury's business. The figures are given for each four weekly period (each year is split into 13 periods), with a total calculated for the financial year.

In the first half of the ledger each account has a reference number with a letter and number. The letters can be roughly categorised as:
A: Factory
B: Branches
C: Central handling/transport, laboratory, canteens, cold storage
D: Head office departments
no reference: accounts for Sutherland Avenue and Fleckney Evacuation

In the second half of the ledger there are no such references and various accounts are including relating to the factory ('kitchens') and the branches.
