Photographs of the new Sainsbury's store in Broadmead, Bristol. It was Britain's biggest self-service store when it opened on 14 November 1961 (according to JS Journal). Includes photographs of a large Christmas cake made by Huntley & Palmers - a prize of a free turkey was given to the 50 customers who guessed the weight most accurately.
Some photographs of the store appear in JS Journal December 1961 and January-February 1962 issues.
