Black and white negatives and contact sheet of photographs by Brian Shuel. The photographs show the demolition of four large industrial chimneys on the site of the planned new Sainsbury's depot at Charlton. The demolition was carried out by specialist firm Swinnerton & Miller Ltd and was filmed by the BBC for 'Blue Peter' with presenter Peter Purves.
Some of the photographs on contact sheets SM12 to SM16 were used in an article in JS Journal March 1968 "Down to Earth: Report on the last day in the life of four chimneys of Charlton".
