Image of new company director: Mr E.R. Griffiths

Photograph by Brian Shuel which is part of a set (SO/35 and SO/36/1-14) which show the three new board directors appointed in 1969. One picture of each director from this set was used in JS Journal (staff magazine) July 1969 page 63 (this picture was not chosen) to introduce the new directors.

The picture shows Mr (later Sir) E.R. Griffiths (known as Roy Griffiths). The Journal explains he "joined the Company last year [and] was formerly Director of Personnel for the Monsanto Companies in Europe. His primary responsibilities will be in respect of the Personnel Services Division". [At a later date he would become the Deputy Chairman and the Managing Director].
