Memorandum with attached tables of statistics relating to the customers at Sainsbury's stores in comparison with other food retail chains. The memorandum was sent (from?) B.T. Ramm (to?) Mr J.D. Sainsbury and copied to Mr J.L. Woods and Mr J. Huish. The memorandum briefly analyses the figures.
There are two tables attached (on one page):
Table 1: Percentage distribution of 'regular customers' - the percentage in each of four social classes, four age groups, who are children, and who are working full or part time. Figures are given for Sainsbury's, Co-ops, Fine Fare, Tesco, Marks & Spencer, Pricerite, International, and Woolworths.
Table 2: Percentage of occasional customers who are regular customers, who think stores have good value, low prices, and good quality. Figures are given for Sainsbury's, Co-ops, Fine Fare, Tesco, Marks & Spencer, Pricerite, International, Woolworths, MacFisheries, Safeway, and Waitrose.
The data was calculated from a recent N.O.P. [National Opinion Polls - a market research company] report, though are Sainsbury's own calculations from those figures.
