Report by Carne Martin (market research agency) for J Sainsbury plc detailing the findings, background and methodology of a market research study into Sainsbury's Country Town Store (CTS) format. The CTS format was launched by Sainsbury's in 1996 for towns outside the catchment area of superstores, with the stores intended to "reflect a superstore proposition in terms of range and variety but in a smaller sales area". Three towns with were studied as part of the project: Kenilworth, Melksham and Oswestry.
